Question: Does Bedside Manners handle emergency Calls?
Answer: No
Bedside Manners is NOT an emergency care provider. If your call is an emergency, you should call 911 immediately.(Top)

Question: What insurances do you accept?
Answer:  Currently we gladly accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicare and Medicaid. In the future, Bedside Manners may accept additional coverages. Feel free to check back with in the near future.(Top)
Question: What if I already have a regular doctor?
Answer:  Absolutely! We would love to provide you with quality in-home medical care. We do accept personal checks, money orders and cashier checks made payable to Bedside Manners Home Care and payable upon service. Cash is not recommended for your and our safety. (Top)
Question: What if I do not have medical insurance?
Answer:  Bedside Manners welcomes patients without medical coverage. We have many affordable options depending on your circumstances. Please feel free to call us at 734-955-2767 do discuss your situation to determine the most affordable option for your in home medical needs.(Top)
Question: What are your hours of operation?
Answer:  Hours of operation vary, but for the most part, all calls are handled during what is considered to be normal business hours in the range of 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. However, all situations and scheduling options are considered when making your appointment. Depending on your needs, flexible hours of visit may be an option.(Top)
Question: How long have you been in business?
Answer:  The collective certified medical experience of our doctors spans greater than 65 years. Nearly 20 years of that experience has been in the home health field. (Top)
Question: Are you a legitimate company?
Answer:  Yes, we are federally and state registered. Further, Bedside Manners is a Participating Provider and acceptance of Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicare and Medicaid.(Top)
Question: What if can't afford the medical bills??
Answer:  No problem! In that case, we can still see you under hardship. (Top)
Question: What is hardship?
Answer:  Hardship is for those qualifying patients who cannot afford out-of-pocket coverage. We are obligated to send you a bill, but you will contact us and immediately initiate the process to avoid any costs. (Top)
Question: How much does service cost?
Answer:  Initial visits start at $175.00 with follow up visits starting at $75.00.(Top)
Question: What hospitals are you affiliated with?
Answer:  Bedside Manners does not have any direct hospital affiliations although some of our staff doctors are affiliate with the DMC with other being independent.(Top)
Question: Can I change doctors?
Answer:  Certainly! We do recognize that it is in your best interest to develop a close and sincere relationship with your designated physician. If you are unhappy, we will immediately change your doctor and investigate your concern. (Top)
Question: How many doctors are on staff?
Answer:  Currently, we have 3 tenured doctors. Bedside Manners medical staff can comfortably accommodate our current patient needs. (Top)
Question: Will I see the same doctor??
Answer:  Absolutely! We do recognize that it is in your best interest to have one primary care team. We want you to develop a close and sincere relationship with your designated physician.(Top)
Question: What if I need to go to the hospital?
Answer: We want to stay in close contact with your admitting physician so that we can monitor your care and progress. Our doctors will resume care once you are discharged from the hospital. (Top)
Question: Where are you located?
Answer: Bedside Manners administrative office is located in Romulus, Michigan. We serve patients in Wayne, Washtenaw, Jackson, Oakland, St. Clair, Macomb, Ingham, Eaton, and Livingston Counties. Our doctors and clinical staff work in geographic teams within each of these counties so that we can be responsive to you and the area in which you live. (Top)
Question: What pharmacies do you use?
Answer:  While Bedside Manners is still developing pharmaceutical relationships, we encourage you to continue using your current pharmacy. As these relationships mature we will notify you of our partners. (Top)

Question: What is verification?
Answer:  We have to verify: your insurance information (eligibility), contact number of doctors for your care and medication history. (Top)
Question: Why is verification necessary?
Answer:  While the insurance is obvious, let me explain the reason behind the number of doctors and the medication history. Due to abuse, our insurance providers and the federal government are extra sensitive about patients who constantly switch doctors (doctor shop) and search for narcotic prescriptions. Bedside Manners want to continue to provide quality in-home healthcare, so we verify your history to eliminate these concerns with our insurance providers and federal government.(Top)
Question: Do you service assisted living and nursing homes?
Answer:  Absolutely. Bedside Manners specialize in seeing patients in assisted living facilities. In fact, with the consent of the patient, a relative, or the legal guardian of the patient, Bedside Manners can provide quality medical care in a nursing, assisted or non-assisted living home. (Top)
Question: What can I expect during a visit?
Answer  Your initial visit includes a complete physical examination, assessment of your surroundings, monitoring of your nutritional status and taking a full medical history. We also perform blood tests, electrocardiograms (EKGs) and arrange for X-rays if needed. After your first visit, we will continue to monitor your care and condition and will schedule follow-up visits as medically necessary. (Top)
Question: How often can I be seen?
Answer: Twice in the first month and once a month thereafter. (Top)
Question: Do I have to be homebound or disabled to recieve a visit?
Answer: No, anyone can utilize and enjoy the benefits of a visiting physician, but for Medicare and Medicaid patients you must be homebound to be seen by a visiting physician.(Top)
Question: Is it true that doctors don't make housecalls?
Answer: No. Since 1998 insurance companies have encouraged home visits for homebound patients. (Top)
Question: Do I need a referral for in home medical care?
Answer: No, just pick up the phone and make an appointment. (Top)
Question: Will I always be seen by a doctor?
Answer: Certainly, if that is your wish. Our doctors are board certified in family practice and internal medicine with extensive experience in adult and geriatric care. Our medical staff also includes physician assistants and nurse practitioners who are board certified and expertly trained in providing the highest level of home healthcare. (Top)

Answer: Yes. Bedside Manners works closely with other home care specialists including dentists, podiatrists and optometrists. (Top)
